About the role

What you would do

Frame the research question with the team and choose a method that fits the decision, available participants and constraints.

Plan and conduct interviews or usability sessions, using clear tasks and questions that avoid leading participants.

Synthesize findings, record limitations and help designers translate evidence into changes that can be tested.

What you need

Practical experience planning, moderating and analyzing qualitative product research.

An understanding of recruitment criteria, informed participation, privacy and the limits of a sample.

The ability to separate observation from interpretation and communicate findings in a form that supports a product decision.

Useful additional experience

Survey design, product analytics or combining qualitative findings with quantitative evidence.

Research with specialist enterprise users, accessibility needs or AI experiences where trust and uncertainty affect behavior.

What to show in your portfolio

A study showing the original decision, research question, method and your role in the work.

Share anonymized examples of analysis and explain how you handled contradictory findings or limited access to users.

Describe what changed because of the research, what remained uncertain and how you would follow up. Do not include participant personal data.

How we would work together

Bring designers and product stakeholders into the question-setting and synthesis so findings stay connected to the work.

Before a future study, agree on access to participants, consent, data handling and the decision the research will inform.
