Product challenge

Competing content

Posts, stories, offers, events and notifications can overwhelm the experience without a clear hierarchy.

Our starting point

Define the core connection

Identify why people join, what a useful interaction looks like and which roles participate. Prioritize that journey before expanding the feature set.

Give every interaction a clear purpose

Feeds, profiles and messages are useful when they help people make a connection. Our social product work includes a local community platform, a voice-first dating app and Fitpool’s fitness communities. Each combines discovery with different expectations about identity, participation and communication.

Where the experience gets complicated

  1. Competing content

Posts, stories, offers, events and notifications can overwhelm the experience without a clear hierarchy.

  2. Different participant roles

Residents, businesses, trainers or prospective matches may need different actions inside the same product.

  3. Control over interaction

People need to understand who can contact them, what is shared and how they can leave or change an interaction.

How we approach it

  • Identify why people join, what a useful interaction looks like and which roles participate. Prioritize that journey before expanding the feature set.

  • Structure feeds, recommendations and profiles so people can assess relevance. Reveal secondary actions in context instead of crowding the first view.

  • Prototype messaging, notifications and interaction states. Make visibility, mutual consent and available recovery actions understandable where they apply.

  • Test first-time and returning-user journeys with realistic content. Build reusable patterns so new social features remain coherent.
